Forcing religion on teens

Postby Delaney » Sat Jan 23, 2010 11:23 am

What do you think is the best way to get your teen to go to church willingly? Do you think that forcing your teen to go is the right answer?

No-never. Never force anyone-they will never take to that religion willingly if they are forced to go. They will rebel and do everything they can to shun it. Let your actions speak lovingly of the faith, and it may will them over.

I agree with Mamajo... if they admire you for the way you live your life, and that is significantly influenced by your religion, that's more likely to pique interest than forcefeeding.

Another agreement-you cannot force someone to share your beliefs and may end up alienating them if you try. Exposing them to the faith is fine, but you'll have to find other ways in which to do it.

If you force, they will rebel. That is just about how anything with a teen works. I do not think you should force beliefs on anyone, child, teen or adult. There is no reason you can not bring them the opportunity but forcing is a no no for me sorry.
