I want to get involved

I hate seeing my little girl hurt! Whenever she tells me that someone is mean to her or called her a name I want to go beat them up myself. Of course I don't, I'm an adult. I know I have to let her work out her problems it is just so hard.

How do I do this?

You have to teach your kids to fight their own battles. You could get involved and then your daughter would be best friends again with the same person who picked on her. Then what do you do? It's just best to stay out of it, unless she is going to get hurt.

If there is a problem with bullying, then you may have to do some work in your school to raise awareness. If it's just a snit between kids, then it will pass. Talk to your child to find out more about what is going on. Also, you may wish to read "The Bully, The Bullied, and The Bystander" by Barbara Coloroso.

Every little kid will go through this phase. The best way is that you teach your girl how to deal with that situation and try to make friends with her classmates. In fact, if you do this, you have been involved. Don’t worry too much. Your little girl will have a good time with her friends.

This is a phase we all go through, I agree with what the others said that you should let your kid fight her own battle. Not unless she is physically hurt then you should talk to the principal and not scold the kid who hurt your kid because this will just make the situation worse.
